What is cPanel?
cPanel is the brand name of the most popular website and server Control Panel. cPanel is a Graphical User Interface [GUI] type software that helps control and manage all aspects of the servers and websites, including management of:
- Website text files and images,
- Emails, and

Almost in all cases, when you choose a web hosting plan, whether it is for Shared Web Hosting, VPS, Dedicated Web Hosting, or Cloud web hosting providers include a cPanel as part of the service. In some cases, hosting providers make cPanel an add-on paid option and charge extra. In those cases the cost of licensing a cPanel for your web hosting plan varies quite a bit from $3 to $5 per month [for a single-website cPanel license] to $100+ per month for cPanel licenses allowing to manage hundreds of web sites and/or servers. Other Server Control Panels
cPanel is not the only website and server Control Panel. There are quite a few others. The most popular Control Panel to manage Windows operating system based servers is Plesk.
